Susanna Elias
Sport Rehabilitator and Pilates Teacher

Susanna graduated from the University of Salford with a 1st Class BSc in Sports Rehabilitation in 2015. She subsequently completed teaching qualifications in Matwork and Reformer Pilates as well as medical acupuncture. Specialising in musculoskeletal injury, Susanna is passionate about getting her clients to a stronger and fitter place than they were before injury. She also works to discover the root cause of an injury - not just to treat the symptoms.

Susanna has a wide variety of experience working with clients recovering from strokes, major surgery and common sports injuries, long-term back pain and many other musculoskeletal conditions. She has worked with Team GB triathletes - enabling them to become injury free in the run up to big races - and national level skiers.

She has also worked with those with long-term conditions like Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. Due to her training in both manual therapy and exercise for rehabilitation, Susanna can combine massage with Pilates (and other forms of exercise) in a single session, which often works well for these clients.

Susanna’s specialist area is injury rehabilitation; she has particular interests in shoulder, back and chronic pain and in improving sporting performance through strength and conditioning. She believes in the power of exercise to heal and aims to teach clients how to improve their symptoms and take control of their own body and its healing.

As well as being a busy mum, physical activity and a healthy diet and lifestyle are very important to Susanna. Her other interests include cooking, running and gym work. She enjoys learning about her field and continues to do professional development courses and reads widely around her subject.
