Susanna Elias
Sport Rehabilitator and Pilates Teacher

Susanna graduated from the University of Salford with a 1st Class BSc in Sports Rehabilitation in 2015 and subsequently completed qualifications in mat and reformer Pilates and medical acupuncture. She has recently completed both courses of JEMS: a holistic, biomechanical approach to rehabilitation.

She is currently undertaking a three-year course to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, which will allow her to specialise in the all-too-common physical effects of unresolved trauma, such as chronic pain.

Susanna has a wide variety of experience working with different types of clients, from those recovering from strokes, surgery or sports injuries to those with MS, Parkinson’s and common musculoskeletal pain conditions such as back, neck and shoulder pain. She has worked with Team GB triathletes and ultramarathon runners (enabling them to become injury free in the run up to big races), national-level skiers, rowers taking part in Olympic trials and black-belt martial artists.

Due to her training in both manual therapy and exercise for rehabilitation, Susanna can combine “hands-on” techniques, rehabilitative exercise and, now, somatic techniques into one session, specifically tailoring the session to her clients’ needs.

As well as being passionate about her work, Susanna is a busy mum who enjoys practising reformer Pilates, long family walks, cooking, reading and Smooth FM!
