More about CAFT
The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) has been helping children from all over Cheshire and the North West since 1992. They are based in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. Each year they throw a lifeline to children living with difficulties most of us couldn’t comprehend – providing holidays, day trips and Christmas parties to children from all over our region. These children have a huge variety of needs but have one thing in common – they are in desperate need of a break. Each year the charity must raise in the region of £1million and to do this they rely entirely on voluntary contributions. The support of their local community is absolutely vital to CAFT.
The children who benefit have a wide range of needs, a significant number have complex needs and medical issues, life-limiting or terminal illnesses. Many have mobility difficulties, communication disorders, learning disabilities or sensory impairments. For these children and their families, life can be stressful and relentless, a never-ending routine of hospital appointments and specialist care. The disabled/ill child, their siblings and parents can all suffer isolation and it can be a huge challenge to engage in mainstream activities and social events.
Other children visiting the Adventure Farm have no physical limitations but come from the most deprived communities. Most of us would be shocked to learn of living conditions in our neighbouring communities, families barely surviving on shockingly low incomes who are often hidden from sight but are in need our support. The charity also supports children who act as Carers and those who have suffered bereavement, as well as those who have sadly been victims of sexual, emotional or physical abuse – young, vulnerable children who have been exposed to a dark and very adult world.
CAFT’s main activity is the provision of weeklong holidays for groups of children from local schools, charities and hospices. These holidays are provided free of charge and take place at their 10 acre site. During their holiday the children take part in a bespoke programme of activities, making full use of the charity’s amazing site. Activities include sports, arts, crafts, sensory play, music and animal care.
If you would like to help CAFT to continue to provide these vital services then there are so many ways you can get involved. Donations of all shapes and sizes are welcomed and very gratefully received.
For more information about the charity’s work please visit their website www.caft.co.uk or call one of their fantastic fundraisers on 01565 830 053.
Together we can change the lives of these amazing children from our region. Together we can make a difference.
What clients have said about our previous events…
“I had a lovely retreat day with soul sister sanctuary. The whole day was filled with wonderful experiences. There was lovely meditations, an enjoyable yoga session and an uplifting reiki session all with a friendly group of ladies. I found the healthy homemade food yummy and was introduced to a matcha green tea latte which has since become one of my favourite drinks. Lindsey and Charlotte were fabulous hosts. It is a day that will definitely need to be repeated.”
“You offered a beautifully thought-out, blissful day, in which I felt safe and supported, with the perfect balance of calm time, gentle yoga (fab teacher!), delicious food, fun and quiet reflection time. Lindsey’s reiki session was profound and I loved Charlotte’s meditations and crystal manifestation session”
