  • Does your back hurt or ‘go’ regularly?
  • Do you spend a lot of time sitting at a computer or standing at work
  • When you try to stand up straight does it feel uncomfortable or impossible?

Here at Clinic Equilibrium, our approach to Pilates has a clinical slant as we specialise in individualised help for those with chronic back problems such as scoliosis curvature of the spine or those wishing to prevent potential back problems through overuse or poor posture.

We offer a specialised Back Care Pilates Class which looks at your posture and movement, range and mobility of the neck, spine and hips and prepares you with all the foundation principals of the class. The aim of Back Care Pilates is to improve even chronic back problems so clients go on to enjoy the full range of classes on offer with confidence.

Note: a 30-minute clinical assessment is required prior to this class.

We also offer one-to-one Posture Analysis sessions to help you find your own neutral position. Our certified BASRaT therapists show you how to find your own good posture pain-free, and treatment may include massage therapy and corrective exercises to help relieve tension and tight muscles.

Posture is a key element of our musculoskeletal system that can legitimately make or break us. Poor posture puts the body under stress, which can lead to aches, pains, migraines and increase the likelihood of injury. It also affects the functioning of our internal systems, including digestive and respiratory system and suppresses our level of performance during day-to-day life. By learning proper posture it allows us to optimise our bodies and live pain-free.

The most important thing to remember is that an injury or ongoing niggles does not have to be forever. We have a range of injury treatments and clinics available with qualified physiotherapists and sports physios to get you back on track as quickly as possible.
