Lindsey Woolstencroft BSc GSR SCS
Lindsey graduated from the University of Salford with a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation and a PG in Strength and Conditioning. During her degree she gained experience in the USA working with Physical Therapists and Orthopaedic Consultants at the Minnesota Dance Medicine Foundation, along with working as an Athletic Trainer with Division II Collegiate Sports Teams. Lindsey has experience in private clinical practice and working with Northern Ballet Theatre, Macclesfield Rugby Club, Fylde Ice Hockey, Dancers and Olympic GB Swimmers. Lindsey also worked with the Defence Medical Services looking after injured military personnel for two years, as well as work with the Australian Physio and Pilates Institute in Wimbledon.
Lindsey has been a full member and an Officer on the Executive Committee for the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT). BASRaT hold an accredited voluntary register through the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) for health and social care, set up by the Department of Health and administered by an independent body, accountable to Parliament. Sports Rehabilitation is formally recognised as a health care occupation.
Lindsey is a highly experienced Pilates teacher having practiced for over 15 years in Balanced Body, Classical and APPI styles. Lindsey completed both her Matwork and Equipment training to Level 4 with APPI.
Lindsey’s sporting history involves being a former Team GB member, National and International Medalist in Ice Dance. Lindsey has had the privilege to work alongside Olympic Champions performing in many shows across the globe including ‘Dancing on ice’ in Holland and Belgium. Through her experience as a figure skater Lindsey has always had a huge interest in the body and health, fitness and movement.
Lindsey’s specialist areas are in antenatal and postnatal care and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Pilates Instructor and Osteopathy Student
Simone is our most experienced Pilates teacher, having previously owned her own Pilates studio back in her hometown of Cape Town. Simone shares a passion and breadth of knowledge in Pilates. Simone has worked with all walks of life from professional athletes to pregnant ladies. Having worked closely alongside healthcare professionals for a number of years Simone has a very good eye for posture and biomechanics and helping with injuries and injury prevention, which has led Simone to her additional training in Osteopathy. Formerly Simone was a Dance Teacher and Choreographer so her specialist area is dance conditioning, making her Barre classes a real treat for anyone.
Susanna Elias BSc GSR
Pilates Instructor and Rehab Specialist
Susanna graduated from the University of Salford with a 1st Class BSc in Sports Rehabilitation and is a Level 3 Pilates instructor. Specialising in musculoskeletal injury, Susanna is passionate about getting her clients back to a stronger and fitter place than they were before injury and discovering the root cause of an injury, not just treating the symptoms. She suffered a herniated disc at 18, which was her incentive to become qualified in injury rehabilitation and Pilates.
Susanna’s gained experience working in a busy GP practice in Hindley, The Royal Liverpool Hospital and Salford University Sports Injury Clinic.
As well as being a busy mum, physical activity together with a healthy diet are very important to Susanna. She enjoys cooking, running and gym work, together with weekly netball with her daughter and Pilates.
Susanna utilises her musculoskeletal rehab knowledge with her Pilates training to get the best and fastest results for her clients.
Pilates Teacher, specialist in Antenatal/Postnatal and Bone Health
Julie is a Body Control Pilates teacher, with experience of teaching in both clinical and studio environments, on a 121 basis and in small group classes.
After suffering years of back pain as a result of a structural scoliosis, she immediately found relief in Pilates. As her interest in Pilates grew, she was keen to progress further, and learning to teach Body Control Pilates became a natural, logical progression.
Since qualifying she has undertaken courses in Intermediate Matwork, Reformer Pilates, Pilates for Bone Health, Antenatal Pilates, Postnatal Pilates, and Pilates for Endurance Training.
Trainee Pilates Teacher and Marketing & Admin Manager
Claire first came to Clinic Equilibrium in January 2016 as a student and from being a dedicated loyal attendee of reformer classes each week, her passion for Pilates grew. So much so that she decided to take the Pilates teaching path as a career change. Claire is currently studying hard for her Certificate in Body Control Mat Pilates Teaching qualification with Europe’s Largest Professional Pilates Organisation, Body Control in London.
Claire also joined the team to take a leading role in the marketing and administration for the Clinic, ensuring the communication & client care is kept to a high standard.
Pilates Teacher and Personal Trainer
Amy is an endurance athlete, Pilates instructor, and motivational speaker.
Amy has over 10 years experience in the fitness industry. Qualifying with premier global in 2007 as a level 3 personal trainer and sports therapist. Amy found her love for Pilates and trained to be an instructor with Stott Pilates
Amy does not only love to teach reformer but it also helps her massively with her sporting career. Helping with injury prevention and core strength. In 2014 Amy took on the mammoth challenge of running 53 marathons in 53 consecutive days in 53 different towns and cities around the UK.
The aim was to inspire others and motivate people to get involved. Amy raised over £53,000 for charity.
This achievement placed Amy 27th in the Telegraph’s Top 100 Britons of 2014 and established her alongside the likes of Jo Pavey in Runner’s World Top 5 Running Heroes of 2014. Amy also picked up ‘Running Moment of the Year 2014’ at the prestigious Running awards.

Debbie Leftwich MA, BSc, DipM
Debbie has a love of hill-walking, running and hiking, and took up Pilates to help maintain fitness and core strength for these activities.
She found Pilates so enjoyable and beneficial that after a career as a research biologist in the pharma industry, she trained and qualified as a mat Pilates instructor. She has been practicing yoga for twenty years and Pilates for ten.
Debbie is passionate about the benefits of Pilates; not only for fitness, but also for general physical health and self-esteem, and is especially drawn to the precision and control Pilates affords.
Debbie leads walking holidays and includes Pilates and relaxation classes as part of the daily routine, as well as teaching Pilates classes in the local area.
